Superstitions and Civilian Displacement: Evidence from the Colombian Conflict with Professor Oliver Kaplan

Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMMountain Standard Time UTC -07:00

This presentation will explore issues of civilian behavior during armed conflict. It specifically reviews new survey and interview data from Colombia and shows that a substantial share of the conflict-affected population holds a variety of conflict-related superstitious beliefs. These beliefs are assessed for how they impact displacement-related outcomes.
